Journals

Millennial Engage: Freedom Writers / "We are partnering up with two literary magazines, Glass Kite Anthology and Sugar Rascals, to feature millennials’ voices on widely-read platforms. Students with something to say about our divided country should submit their essay, short story, or poem here."

Tunnel Magazine
/
A magazine reserved for young art. “Young” because young people are important, but we are also very much small and confused, and that’s really okay, and we don’t need to overthink/overanalyze/romanticize it. So this is a simple place, for things to change, develop, and be young + fresh in peace.

Phosphene Literary Journal /
Phosphene |fäsfēn| noun: i. a ring or spot of light produced by direct stimulation of the visual system other than by light.

Inklette / Inklette is a not-for-profit, online literary magazine helmed by emerging artists and writers from all over. Inklette believes in the ability of art and literature to strike our consciousness in inexplicable ways. We believe that a good work of art can make us feel that our backs are ‘straight road(s) to the sky,’ as Brigit Pegeen Kelly puts it.

Half Mystic / Half Mystic is an independent print & online literary journal dedicated to the celebration of music in all its forms. We adore creators with études nestled between their ribs and sonatas shivering beneath their spines, and we believe that there is music nestled in every cranny of the universe, only as intimate as it is limitless. Music grounded in reality, shrouded in enchantment, born from stardust, bathed in sunlight, magical or mundane – Half Mystic is a haven for all of it. A shattered epiphany of afterthought. A finite, timeless paradox.

TRACK//FOUR / TRACK//FOUR is an online literary magazine dedicated to the needs of non-white communities and seek to create a safe space for non-white artists and writers, and as such we only accept work from people of color.

Sprout / Sprout seeks to prove that the young generation is one that cares about the future. We publish work that focuses on society at large, writing about topics such as racism, police brutality, feminism, homophobia, drug abuse, abortion, and other real world issues. We want to hear young voices of all kinds, and will publish any creative media that is bold, raw, and unafraid.

Parallel Ink / Parallel Ink is truly an international labor of love - the magazine on your screens is run by a team of twenty-seven teenagers from six different countries. As of summer 2014, we’ve had submissions from over twenty-two American states and eleven countries, and we’ve published interviews of up-and-coming teen talents from around the world such as author Anna Caltabiano to environmentalist Emma Freedman and singer Tri Giao Vu. Parallel Ink’s last PDF issue (July 2014) clocked in at a staggering one hundred and seven pages of illustrations, poems, personal essays, informative essays, short stories, interviews, editorials, and photography (and even two book-inspired recipes!).

Textploit / Welcome to Textploit, an online magazine created for young writers and artists who want to scream their ideas loud.

Sooth Swarm Journal / Sooth: noun, archaic. Meaning truth. Truth: synonyms: fact, verity, certainty, certitude. This is a definition that falls far from its mark when it shouldn't be aiming for a specific target altogether. We want poetry that examines your uncertain truths and truths that are unafraid to redefine themselves. We want words that live outside the fear of being the wrong ones.

Fissure Magazine / Fissure Magazine was founded by Brynne Rebele-Henry and Aidan Forster. Fissure is dedicated to furthering the voices of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in literature and art, specifically the voices of young and queer writers and artists. We publish biannually, in June and December.

Venus Magazine / Venus Magazine is an international literary and arts publication on print and online. Venus is dedicated to the beauty of the ethereal, the celestial light of words and strokes. We look for softness, yearn for light. Think fairy pink slippers, tinsel and dust. Think candle wax dripping, moon beams skimming still water. We want darkness, light, softness, pain, and magic. We want the beauty but also the bruises, the songs that ring and the notes that scratch. We want your work.

Moledro Magazine / Moledro (n). a feeling of resonant connection with an author or artist you’ll never meet, who may have lived centuries ago and thousands of miles away but can still get inside your head...

Mentorship Programs

The Adroit Journal’s Summer Mentorship Program / Now in its fourth year, The Adroit Journal’s Summer Mentorship Program, pairs experienced writers with high school and secondary students (as of the current academic year) interested in learning more about the creative writing processes of drafting, redrafting and editing. The program is free to all, is entirely online, and will cater to the literary genres of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The aim of the mentorship program is not formalized instruction, but rather an individualized, flexible, and often informal correspondence. It is our hope that mentees will feel comfortable sharing work at their own leisure with their mentors and, ultimately, with each other.

Quartz Online Young Writers' Workshop / Quartz is translucent. Quartz is lustrous. Quartz is defined by every hue imaginable; it reflects an infinite number of wavelengths. Here at Quartz Online Young Writers’ Workshop, we propel students to discover new dimensions, explore the impossible, and demolish boundaries and borders. So come on. Chase the infinite. Our Summer 2016 sessions are free and open to writers entering grades eight through twelve anywhere in the world. Each session will be capped at twelve students.
