Genre Reader
Requirements
- Must have regular access to the Internet
- Must have regular access to e-mail, check at least once per day
- Must be able to devote around 2-4 hours per week of reading, depending on submission rate
- Must be able to communicate openly with editors, editors-in-chief, and fellow staff members
- Must be willing to sacrifice personal preference for the mission of the journal
- Passion for reading works of others
- Experience with reading/editing creative literary works
- Experience with writing creative literary works
- Read submissions/pieces of work (the amount will vary based on how many are received)
- Recommend "Accept," "Reject," or "Revise" after each piece of work
- Write a paragraph to the genre editor & editors-in-chief detailing and explaining your vote
- OPTIONAL: suggest edits to the piece
Visual Arts Editor
Requirements
- Must have regular access to the Internet
- Must have regular access to e-mail, and check it at least once per day
- Must be able to put in 3-5 hours of self-directed work a week, depending on submission rate
- Must be able to communicate openly with editors
- Passion, understanding, and experience with a diverse scope of visual art OR/AND with layout
- Review, evaluate, and manage visual arts submissions
- Decide which visual arts submissions get published in the anthology
- Participate in editor meetings
- Communicate with editors regarding which submissions are to be published
- Decide and format visual art submissions
- Layout the GKA issues
Social Media Liaison
Requirements
- Must have regular access to internet, especially social media platforms
- Must have regular access to email, check at least twice a day
- Must be able to devote around 2-3 hours per week of social media blogging, status updates, etc.
- Must be update editors-in-chief regularly on social media activity
- Must communicate with editors-in-chiefs regularly to be up to date on topics to spread the word about on social media
- Has experience working with a variety of social media platforms.
- Passionate about advertising GKA opportunities, publications, submissions, etc.
- Has interest in GKA, its mission, and its opportunities
- Promote, advertise, and write blog posts/status updates on current GKA news, upcoming events, opportunities, spotlights, published pieces, issues, etc.
- Monitor blog comments on the GKA blog
- Monitor our Facebook page and Tumblr blog. Be willing to add more social media platforms, if necessary.
- Communicate with editors-in-chief to ensure the process is going smoothly, and to get ideas on what to put on social media platforms.

Genre Editor
Requirements
- Must have regular access to the Internet
- Must have regular access to e-mail, check at least twice per day
- Must be able to devote around 4-5 hours per week of editing, depending on submission rate
- Must be able to communicate openly with editors, editors-in-chief, and fellow staff members
- Must be willing to sacrifice personal preference over the mission of the journal
- Must be willing to work directly with editors-in-chief, and potentially participate in face-to-face communication
- At least one season (issue) with GKA as a reader for the genre you are applying to as editor
- Passion for reading and editing the works of others
- Familiar with GKA's mission statement, and has a clear idea of which pieces would correspond best with it
- Experience with writing, reading, and editing the creative works of others, as well as their own
- Being the head of their genre (includes guiding the genre in different directions, and communicating with editors-in-chief on new ideas, and focuses)
- Making edits and correcting submissions that have passed through both rounds of evaluations.
- Providing the penultimate vote on a piece's submission status, as well as a short comment explaining why
- Communicating directly with editors-in-chief on which pieces would best fit the anthology's tone, etc
- Commenting on and monitoring their genre readers' performance in evaluating submissions
Managing Editor

Responsibilities
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must be willing to put in at least 4-5 hours per week of managing and organizing submissions (time depends on amount of submissions)
- Must have regular access to internet
- Will have regular access to GKA's email, glasskiteanthology@gmail.com, must check at least 3 times per day
- Must communicate with editors-in-chief at all times to ensure process is running smoothly
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Organized and precise when dealing with managing submissions
- Experienced with managing submissions/any other medium OR willingness to learn how, and quick to pick it up and employ it
- Able to keep track of submissions, names, dates, etc. in an organized and easy-to-follow method
- Able to prevent bias or personal connections from affecting them when managing submissions
Responsibilities
- Recording down submission information (name of submitter, name of submissions, genre, date submitted, etc.)
- Send submissions to readers for both rounds of evaluations
- Acting as liaison between submission rounds, deciding which pieces go on to the next round of evaluations and which ones do not
- Working with editors-in-chief to check on the process and status submissions
- Sending out acceptance/rejection letters to submitters
